Dr. Matthew Rizk, PhD, is currently an Executive Director at Merck & Co., Inc. in the department of Quantitative Pharmacology & Pharmacometrics (QP2). Matt received his BS from Cornell University and his PhD from UCLA, both in Chemical Engineering, with research focused in the areas of metabolic engineering and synthetic biology. He then joined Merck Research Laboratories in 2009, where he currently leads the infectious disease, vaccine, cardiometabolic disease and immunology therapeutic areas within QP2. Matt is passionate about the development of people both inside and outside his group, having served as a mentor within the Merck Women’s Network and as co-lead of his department’s Diversity & Inclusion Task Force. Externally, he serves on the ASCPT Board of Directors and on the editorial board of Clinical Pharmacology & Therapeutics (CPT).
