Dr. Arjun Athreya, MS PhD, is an Assistant Professor at Mayo Clinic's Department of Molecular Pharmacology and Experimental Therapeutics. He earned his MS degrees in Electrical and Computer Engineering and Computer Science from Carnegie Mellon University, and PhD in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Univ. of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Through close collaborations with physicians, his core research focuses on innovations in computer systems engineering, and artificial intelligence based technologies for individualizing medicine. Arjun was an inaugural Fellow of the Mayo Clinic-Illinois Alliance for Technology-Based Healthcare research, and a Fellow of National Center for Supercomputing Applications at Univ. of Illinois. Facets of his doctoral research have received honors from both engineering and healthcare/life-science science communities, including Rambus Award for Excellence in Computer Engineering at Illinois, and Presidential Trainee Awards (2017-2019) and the Jason Morrow Award from the American Society for Clinical Pharmacology and Therapeutics. Dr. Athreya’s research is funded by NSF, NIH and Mayo Medical Foundation.
