Dr. Aline Barth is a Senior Director and Head of Clinical Pharmacology at Global Blood Therapeutics, where her research focuses on the development of new drugs for the treatment of Sickle Cell Disease (hematology/rare diseases). She obtained her PhD from the University of Florida where she worked on clinical pharmacology and PK/PD modeling of anti-infective agents. Prior to her current position, she was a Director at the Clinical Pharmacology Modeling and Simulation Department at GlaxoSmithKline, where she worked on the development of new antibiotics. She also worked at Merck as a Clinical Pharmacology and Pharmacometrics lead on infectious diseases and neurosciences projects. She is an ASCPT member and has served on the strategic planning task force, career development committee and Early Career community leadership.
