Caroline received her BA in Chemistry/Biochemistry from UC San Diego, and her PhD in Pharmaceutical Sciences from the department of Pharmaceutics, University of Washington. She did her post-doctoral training at Glaxo. She joined Arena Pharmaceuticals in summer of 2018 in which her role there spans toxicology, preclinical DMPK and clinical pharmacology. In her career, Caroline has been involved in all stages of pharmaceutical drug development from the establishment of HTS ADME screening lab, DMPK project support, and clinical pharmacology to support clinical development programs. She’s been active in transporter sciences contributing to the International Transporter Consortium, ITC White Papers, and lead an industry focused effort to understand variability in transporter IC50 determinations and cutoff refinements to facilitate the utility of in vitro data for clinical DDI transporter guidance. She is past chair of the Transporter Membrane Community of American Society for Clinical Pharmacology and Therapeutics (ASCPT).
