Akinyemi Oni-Orisan, PharmD, PhD is an Assistant Professor at the University of California, San Francisco with appointments in the Departments of Clinical Pharmacy, the Department of Bioengineering and Therapeutic Sciences, and the Institute for Human Genetics. He earned both his BS in biology and PharmD degrees at the University of Michigan. He received his PhD in Pharmaceutical Sciences from the Division of Pharmacotherapy and Experimental Therapeutics at the University of North Carolina. He also completed a postdoctoral fellowship in the Clinical Pharmacology Training Program at UCSF. The long-term research objective of the Oni-Orisan lab is to advance precision medicine in cardiovascular pharmacotherapy for individuals from all backgrounds. His current work involves the characterization of lipid-modifying agents for atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease through the utilization of electronic health records. He has been a member of ASCPT since 2013 and is the current chair of the Bioengineering & Translational Tools (BTT) community.
