Award Lecture: Real-World Evidence: Advancing Research in Drug Safety Through Pharmacoepidemiology and Pharmacogenomics

Adverse drug events cause more than 100,000 deaths each year in the US. There are unprecedented opportunities to study drug safety in routine care, outside of highly controlled clinical trials. This talk will use two case studies to illustrate the promise of pharmacoepidemiology and pharmacogenomics to advance research in drug safety through the analysis of real-world data.
