Marissa LaRosae is a current M.S. student studying Swine Nutrition at South Dakota State University, advised by Dr. Ryan Samuel. Her research focus is on trace mineral supplementation in nursery and grow-finish diets, where she evaluated the effect of source and concentration of zinc on growth performance in nursery pigs and the effect of trace mineral inclusion level on grow-finish pigs. Previously, Marissa graduated from Purdue Univeristy in 2020 with a B.S. degree in Animal Science with a production focus. During her time at Purdue, Marissa worked in Dr. Kara Stewart's lab were she investigated the effects of semen dose quality over time based on rocking or not rocking doses and utilizing short-term and long-term extenders.
