My name is Wesley Tom, and I am currently a PhD candidate in the school of biological sciences at the University of Nebraska-lincoln working in the lab of Dr. Samodha Fernando! My research focuses on understanding the complex interactions between microbes and their hosts, using a variety of culture independent molecular techniques. Currently, I am focused on investigating microbes and viruses in cattle feedlot microbiomes, disentangling where reservoirs of antibiotic resistance are located.
