Jenna is originally from Oakland, Nebraska. She completed her bachelor’s degree in Animal Science and Industry with a Production option from Kansas State University in December, 2020. During her time at Kansas State, Jenna worked in the diagnostics labs at the Kansas State College of Veterinary Medicine. She also worked as an undergrad worker for the Applied Swine Nutrition Team. While working on her bachelor’s, Jenna completed two internships with Central States Research Center/Midwest Veterinary Services and PIC.
Jenna joined the Applied Swine Nutrition Team in January of 2021 and is currently working on her master’s degree. Some of her research has been evaluating at the effects of lowering the Omega 6:3 fatty acid ratio on growth performance and immune response in nursery pigs. Her current research has been looking at the effects of different fat levels on growth performance in finishing pigs.
In addition to research, Jenna has a fellowship role with Pipestone Nutrition. This role involves summarizing and analyzing data, leading biweekly conference calls, creating presentations and presenting research at panel meetings, and assisting with protocol development.
