Ph.D. Candidate/Graduate Research Assistant
The University of Georgia
My name is Clint Edmunds, M.S. and I am a Ph.D. candidate in the Department of Animal and Dairy Science at the University of Georgia and I will be graduating in May of 2022. My research focus is in swine nutrition, specifically mineral nutrition, under the direction of Dr. Robert Dove. While I did not grow up on a farm, I spent several years showing pigs in high school before leaving rural southwest Georgia and heading off to college. I received my Bachelor's degree in biology in May of 2017 from Georgia College and State University (Milledgville, GA). I moved on to graduate school at the University of Georgia (Athens, GA) and joined the Department of Animal and Dairy Science as I started on my Master's. My Master's thesis was titled "Evaluation of Trace Mineral Supplementation In Neonatal and Nursery Swine." I recieved my Master's degree in Animal Science in August of 2019 and started my Ph.D. that same month. During my time at UGA I've learned alot in the areas of animal science and swine production and I can't wait to further promote and support the food animal industry as I move forward in my academic career and beyond.
