Katie Mayo is the Applied Nutrition R&D Manager at Insta-Pro® International, a high-shear dry extrusion technology company in Grimes, Iowa. She completed her Masters of Science in Immunology at Iowa State University in May 2017. She previously earned her Bachelors of Science in Animal Science and Dairy Science at Iowa State University in 2013. In her current role, she provides client support regarding the nutrition of crops processed by high-shear dry extrusion technology and conducts research studies with university and industry collaborators to maximize quality of extruded feed and food. Katie is an active community leader in agriculture. She has a passion to educate and communicate science and technology to make a positive impact on society and generate tools that help to feed people and animals. She served on the Young Professionals in Agriculture Board (2020), Breaking New Grounds Mentor (current) for graduate students, and serves as a CALS Curtiss League Ambassador (current) for Iowa State University. She enjoys sharing her passion for science with the community, especially K-12 outreach. Success through innovation is her personal mantra.
