Kayla Alward is a 3rd year PhD student in Dr. Rebecca Cockrum's Breeding & Genetics lab in the Dairy Science department at Virginia Tech. She will complete her PhD in may 2023 and pursue post-doctoral and academia opportunities with a focus in dairy science, cattle reproduction, teaching. Her current research focuses on methods to improve pre-weaned calf health via improving colostrum and the calf immune system.
