University of Wisconsin-Madison
Sophia J. Kendall, Research Specialist at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, is a Master's Student in Dr. Heather White's Lab. The objectives of her research include 1) understanding the role that a lipase, PNPLA3, has on fatty liver development and recovery in dairy cattle during the transition period and 2) elucidating the regualtion of PNPLA3 via metabolites and transcription factors. Other work Sophia does in the White Lab is coordinating feed efficiency studies within the Department, and will be studying a potential molecular mechanism as to what makes an animal more or less feed efficienct than others in her cohort.
