Shunshun Jin has obtained his BSc degree in animal science from Nanjing Agriculture University and MSc degree in animal science from the Institute of Subtropical Agriculture, Chinese Academy of Science. In September 2020, Shunshun became a Ph.D. student under the joint supervision of Dr. Karmin O and Dr. Chengbo Yang at the University of Manitoba. Shunshun’s MSc’s research mainly focused on applying leucine and alpha-ketoglutarate supplementation to basal diet in weaned piglets. His research has provided the basis for using these two substances in pig production. Shunshun's Ph.D. research mainly focused on the regulation of oxidative stress and inflammation in weaned piglets.
