Kimberly Vonnahme grew up on a livestock and grain farm near Breda, Iowa. Kim attended Iowa State University majoring in Animal Science, obtained her MS from Oklahoma State University, and PhD from the University of Wyoming. Kim was on faculty at North Dakota State University from 2004 and was promoted to Full Professor in 2016. Kim was lead instructor for the Physiology of Reproduction course and her research program focused on the impacts of maternal nutrition on fetal and placental development in sheep, cattle, and swine. In 2017, Kim accepted a position at Zoetis in Outcomes Research. She serves the pork business unit in her current role. Her research efforts have resulted in 140 peer-reviewed publications, 3 book chapters, and over 270 abstracts.
