Jenilee Peters BSc is a Quality Manager for Trouw Nutrition and currently completing a MSc with Dr. Gabriel Ribeiro at the University of Saskatchewan working on predicting intake and forage digestibility in grazing beef cattle using Near Infrared Spectroscopy (NIRS).
Jenilee grew up on a small mixed farm in Southern Alberta. After graduating with a B.Sc. from the University of Lethbridge she worked as a research technician for Dr. Kim Stanford with Alberta Agriculture & Rural Development, whose research focus was mitigation strategies for E. coli O157:H7. In 2017 she joined Trouw Nutrition as a quality manager focusing on incoming ingredient quality. Working closely with Dr. Mary Lou Swift, she has also gained experience and knowledge in Near Infrared Spectroscopy (NIRS).
A driving passion for Jenilee is the ability to work closely with and provide value to beef producers in Western Canada, the development of robust predictive NIRS calibrations will provide a fast & cost-effective tool to producers for assessing forage quality, and subsequent pasture management and sustainability.
