Faye Chao, MD is an addiction psychiatrist in the Supported Recovery Service at the James J. Peters VA Medical Center. She attended Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia and completed her general psychiatry residency training at Harvard Longwood. She went on to an addiction psychiatry fellowship at NYU and worked in inpatient addiction services at both Bellevue Hospital and Mount Sinai West, where she was the unit chief of addiction services. She is board certified in both General and Addiction Psychiatry. Education about addiction topics has been a passion throughout her career, and she has trained medical students, residents, and fellows on clinical rotations, as well as run a motivational interviewing course for residents at Mount Sinai.
