While addiction treatment providers continue to fight the opioid overdose epidemic, there has been a growing resurgence in stimulant use. This session is designed to describe the methods of use, pharmacological effects, and molecular mechanisms of action for stimulant drugs, including cocaine, methamphetamine and newer "bath salts" cathinones. The presenter will also discuss clinical approaches for treating adverse effects and stimulant use disorders.
