Medical ethics extends far beyond the Hippocratic oath. This session will provide an overview of complex ethical and legal issues that may arise when treating individuals with substance use and other co-occurring disorders. The presenter will also highlight specific medico-legal issues pertaining to special populations including care of justice-involved individuals, impaired professionals, minors, and pregnant women.
