Co-occurring substance use and psychiatric disorders can create additional assessment and treatment complications. This session will use clinical case vignettes to focus on the interactions between disorders, differential diagnoses, and management through both pharmacologic and psychosocial treatments. Participants will receive a framework to assess patients for psychiatric co-morbidities and will be able to identify the mechanism of complications based on direct or indirect drug effects.
