Understanding the pharmacology and toxicology of drugs and medications allows addiction medicine providers to optimize care for their patients. This session provides an understanding of key principles such as tolerance, dependence, hyperalgesia, pharmacokinetics, and pharmacodynamics. Presenters will also discuss applications and limitations including interpretation pitfalls of screening and confirmatory urine drug tests.
