The American Osteopathic Conjoint Examination Committee on Addiction Medicine administers subspecialty certification exams and osteopathic continuous certification (recertification) examinations. The exam is open to MDs and DOs and is administered remotely once per year. Through 2023, physicians may be eligible for the exam through the clinical pathway, certifying that they have completed at least 1,000 hours of direct patient care and/or CME hours in addiction medicine.
