Jennie B. Jarrett, PharmD, BCPS, MMedEd, FCCP, is an Assistant Professor at the University of Illinois Chicago. Dr. Jarrett received her BS from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where she also went on to earn her PharmD. She completed a PGY1 residency at William S. Middleton Memorial Veterans Hospital in Madison, WI and PGY2 residency in Ambulatory care at Duke University Hospital in Durham, NC. Initially, Dr. Jarrett was the Director of Inpatient Pharmacotherapy Education and Director of the PGY1 Pharmacy Residency Program at UPMC St. Margaret as a part of their Family Medicine Residency Program. During her work at UPMC, she additionally completed a master’s in medical education at the University of Pittsburgh. Jennie joined the University of Illinois Chicago as an Assistant Professor in 2016. Her current research and clinical program focuses on workforce development and training specifically to maximize interprofessional primary care teams to improve patient care for vulnerable, underserved populations with substance use disorders.
