Shaina Riciputi Swain, MS, is a research associate at The Butler Institute for Families at the University of Denver, where she manages an evaluation portfolio consisting of projects in behavioral health and early childhood within Butler's Research-to-Practice framework. She holds a B.A. in psychology from Colorado College and an M.S. in Health and Kinesiology (Sport and Exercise Psychology) from Purdue University. She is a research, data, and evaluation specialist with an interest in community health program design, implementation, and evaluation, particularly as they pertain to child, adolescent, and young adult behavioral health and education. She has worked on diverse projects in the social science and public health domains, including positive youth development, adolescent pregnancy and substance abuse prevention, and both internal and external evaluation design for youth-serving programs. Having worked in direct service, government, and academia, Shaina is happiest when sitting at the juncture between research and practice. Her specialties include evaluation data management, data visualization, and working as a liaison between communities of practice.
