Stephen A. Wyatt, D.O, is an addiction psychiatrist. He is an adjunct faculty member of the University of North Carolina. Dr. Wyatt practiced Emergency Medicine in Michigan for 13 years. He then went into psychiatry training at Case Western Reserve University and finished his training in a NIDA clinical research fellowship at the Yale School of Medicine. He has spent his career focusing on comorbid illnesses in adults and adolescents. He is a Co-PI on the SAMHSA granted Provider Clinical Support System or PCSS initiatives and was a Co-Chair of their Buprenorphine Expert Panel. He was a Co-Chair - ASAM National Practice Guideline External Review Committee for Office based Opioid Treatment. Dr. Wyatt is a past president of both the American Osteopathic Academy of Addiction Medicine and the Connecticut Society of Addiction Medicine. He served on the Executive Board for the Connecticut Board of Mental Health and Addiction Services and is on the Executive Committee of the Coalition of Physician Educators in Substance Use Disorders. He is Chairman of the North Carolina Psychiatric Society, Addiction Psychiatry Committee. Dr. Wyatt presents across the country on various problems associated with substance use and their treatments.
