Savitha Racha, MD, is an addiction medicine fellow at Johns Hopkins School of Medicine. She discovered her interest for addiction medicine as a student at Boston University School of Medicine while providing community outreach to underserved individuals with unstable housing and substance use disorders. Since then, she has conducted several research projects focused on the medical complications of addiction such as infective endocarditis in people who use drugs. After fellowship, she plans to become an addiction medicine consultant. Outside of medicine, she enjoys cooking, hiking, and gardening with her significant other.
