Candace Heeringa is a Research Assistant with the Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology & Reproductive Biology at Michigan State University College of Human Medicine. Her primary roles with MI CARES are enrollment, CME, IRB, module development, and participant assistance. She holds over a decade of various positions in medical education with MSU CHM and assisted with the launch of their Shared Discovery Curriculum. Knowing first-hand the devastation and stigma surrounding substance use disorder, her goal is to accelerate the numbers of physicians certified in Addiction Medicine to treat our population and ease the pain of those who suffer.
