Resident Physician
Rutgers University/New Jersey Medical School
Dr. Lorien Shack is a resident physician in the Public Health and Preventive Medicine program at Rutgers University. Originally a native of Detroit, she completed her undergraduate medical training at Wayne State University and her first 2 years of residency at Detroit Medical Center and University of Michigan in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. Patient and personal health challenges caused her to change her career focus to preventive medicine in hopes of impacting disease prevention not only on an individual but also on a population health level. Ultimately, her goal is to become a board-certified Addiction Medicine physician with hopes of providing equitable addiction treatment and attentive preventive care to all substance use populations.
