Annabelle Belcher, PhD, is an Assistant Professor in the Division of Addiction Research and Treatment in the Department of Psychiatry at the University of Maryland School of Medicine. Her two main areas of research interest are: (i) identification of nonpharmacological approaches to increase retention in Medications (primarily, methadone) for Opioid Use Disorder (MOUD) treatment and (ii) implementation and clinical outcomes of telemedicine-delivered MOUD in rural settings. She is further interested in the psychosocial and personality risk and resilience factors that may determine treatment outcomes in clinical populations of treatment-seeking individuals with OUD.
