Jay Annam is a fourth year medical student at Albert Einstein College of Medicine. In medical school, his research has covered a broad range of topics, including the role of cytokines in depression and using a novel imaging device to potentially diagnose depression. He started the COVID19 Discharge Telehealth Initiative to alleviate the burden of follow-ups on physicians at the height of the pandemic, and has been involved in his school as Class President and a Board Member of the Psychiatry Interest Group and a peer tutoring group. Jay graduated from Emory University in 2016 with a BS in Biology. Following graduation, he worked as a 8th grade science teacher in the Bronx and developed an interest in working with underserved populations there.
