Maria C. Mejia, MD, MPH, FACPM is an Associate Professor in the Department of Family and Community at Baylor College of Medicine. She is a clinician-scientist focusing on health disparities and social determinants of health as it intersects with clinical and behavioral health outcomes. Dr. Mejia provides clinical care to women with substance use disorders in collaboration with a Houston-based non-profit. Her team has had several projects funded through SAMHSA, CDC, and NIH focusing on high-risk populations. She is also actively involved in educational initiatives integrating and delivering SBIRT and SUD treatment in the primary care setting.
