Edmond Hakimi, DO is an Addiction Medicine Fellow at Brigham and Women’s Hospital - Harvard Medical School. He received his Bachelor of Science from St. John’s University in New York with major in Biology and minor in Chemistry. He received his Doctorate of Osteopathic Medicine from New York College of Osteopathic Medicine and his Internal Medicine residency at Stony Brook Southampton Hospital.
Prior to starting his addiction medicine fellowship, Dr. Hakimi helped start Nassau County, NY’s first Mobile Addiction Recovery Treatment program. He also serves as an executive board member on multiple not-for-profits, with focus on improving the life of people in recovery or people seeking recovery from substance use disorder.
Dr. Hakimi has a special interest in treating patients with substance use disorder and cooccurring psychiatric diagnosis, as well as conducting clinical research to develop novel treatments.
His goal in practice is to bring an excellent level of care to individuals with substance use disorder and provide them with wrap around services including Medication for Addiction Treatment, Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical behavior therapy as well as Motivational Interviewing.
Dr. Hakimi is fluent in Farsi as well as English. He currently resides in Boston MA with his wife and daughter.
