Sebastian Tong, MD, MPH, FASAM, FAAFP is a physician in the Division of Practice Improvement in the Center for Evidence and Practice Improvement at the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality. He is a practicing family physician and addiction medicine specialist who sees patients at Mary’s Center, a federally qualified health center in Washington, DC. He graduated from the Boston University School of Medicine, received his public health training at Harvard School of Public Health and completed family medicine residency training at Greater Lawrence Family Health Center. Before joining AHRQ, he was an Assistant Professor in the Department of Family Medicine and Population Health at the Virginia Commonwealth University and the co-director of the Virginia Ambulatory Care Outcomes Research Network, a practice-based research network of over 150 primary care practices in Virginia. His research interests include practice-based research, health disparities and substance use disorders.
