Casey Tak, Ph.D., MPH, is an assistant professor in the Department of Pharmacotherapy at the University of Utah College of Pharmacy. His current work is focused on substance use disorders (SUD) in perinatal populations. Recent projects include examining postpartum healthcare utilization among perinatal women diagnosed with opioid use disorder (OUD), determining factors associated with contraception use among postpartum individuals with a SUD, assessing the role of advanced practice practitioners in treating perinatal OUD, and determining the role that residency training has on buprenorphine prescribing practices. He is also interested in the integration of pharmacists in clinical teams and the resulting patient and economic outcomes.
