Miao Lai, BS, PharmD Candidate, University of Utah Health. Miao spent her early childhood in Kaohsiung, Taiwan, but settled in high school and college in Salt Lake City, Utah. She received her Bachelor of Science in Biology and a minor in Chemistry from the University of Utah and is currently a fourth-year student pharmacist pursuing her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the University of Utah College of Pharmacy. Miao works at Associated Regional and University Pathologists (ARUP) Incorporated, specializing in precision medicine for individuals experiencing suicidal ideation, cardiovascular disease, cancer, asthma, and pain. Miao has worked in the pharmacy field for 5 years, with experience in mental health first aid, poison prevention, interprofessional collaboration, advanced community practice, HIV/AIDS, and opioid use. Outside of pharmacy, her clinical and research interests also include addiction medicine, academia, oncology, medication safety, and pharmacogenomics.
