[Continued] Session 4: Screening, Brief Intervention, and Referral to Treatment (SBIRT)

The purpose of this session is to provide training and skills practice in screening and brief intervention with referral to treatment for persons with alcohol use or substance use disorder. These SBIRT steps will be demonstrated, and participants will practice the SBIRT process in groups.
Learning Objectives:
Learners will be able to:
Use validated patient screening tools to detect substance use and interpret a spectrum of results.
Utilize brief counseling strategies that are appropriate to the patient's readiness to change and level of severity.
