Dr. Brian Mitzman is an Assistant Professor of Surgery at the University of Utah and Director of Robotic Thoracic Surgery at the Huntsman Cancer Insitute. His clinical interests concentrate on thoracic surgical oncology, and specifically the application of robotics for complex tumors. He holds leadership roles internally as the Chair of the Robotics Steering Committee and as an associate program director of the general surgery residency. His research interests focus on clinical outcomes and cost effectiveness in treatment of thoracic malignancies. Dr Mitzman serves in numerous national leadership roles, including as a deputy editor of the Annals of Thoracic Surgery and member of the STS General Thoracic Surgery Database Taskforce.
