May Karam, BSN, RN, IBODE, CCRN, began her career as a nurse in a surgical ward, then in hemodialysis and ICU. In the 1990s, she worked in heart surgery, ICU then the OR. In 1998, she went back to a specialized school to obtain her OR Nurse diploma. She then worked two years in Central Sterile Supply Department (CSSD) and now works night shift in an OR for orthopedic surgery, traumatology, gynecology, abdominal surgery, and minimally invasive surgery. May has also studied risk management and health security in health care facilities. No conflict.
