Laura Ortiz Carter is a skilled nursing professional with over 15 years of professional experience in Women Services, Critical Care, Perioperative Services, and Education. She holds a certification as a CCRN and thoroughly enjoys promoting nursing specialty collaborations between various service lines. Laura earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing and a Master of Science in Nursing in Nursing Leadership and Administration, as well as a Post Master’s in Nursing Education from the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston Cizik School of Nursing. Additionally, Laura has presented both nationally and internationally on topics ranging from Critical Care, Obstetrical Care, and Perioperative initiatives. She currently serves as an Instructor in Nursing at the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston Cizik School of Nursing; She is also the Professional Practice Leader for Women’s Services at Houston Methodist Hospital in the Texas Medical Center located in Houston, Texas where she brings unparalleled safety, quality, service and innovation initiatives to the organization. Laura has received various accolades in her career, but the most rewarding recognition is the ability to give back to the nursing profession.
