Cheryl Elliott-Dawe, RN, CNOR holds a Master of Science in Nursing degree (2014) from the University of Texas El Paso. Ms. Elliott-Dawe served as a soldier and nurse leader in the Army Nurse Corps for 30 years, retiring at the rank of Colonel. She has over 20 years of experience as a perioperative leader working in different perioperative environments and with diverse populations. These experiences allowed her to accumulate a wealth of knowledge in the management of perioperative services. She has led numerous process improvement projects in the operating room environment and has given many presentations on perioperative topics. She received her certification in perioperative nursing in 2004, and in 2007, she was awarded the 9A Surgeon General Designator recognizing her as a national expert and consultant in perioperative nursing. She is currently a PhD candidate completing her dissertation on perioperative research in the nursing program at Augusta University in Augusta, Georgia.
