Peter B. Graves, BSN, RN, CNOR, is an independent perioperative nurse consultant focused upon surgical infection prevention and evidence-based best practices. Peter graduated in 1989 from Northern Arizona University in Flagstaff, AZ with a BSN. He is a certified operating room nurse (CNOR).
He has authored and collaborated on multiple papers in peer-reviewed journals such as Surgical Infections, Perioperative Clinics, the AORN Journal, Infection Control Today, and other journals. Peter has authored several chapters on prevention of surgical site infections, most recently, two chapters in Bennett & Brachman's Hospital Infections textbook. Peter was also chapter reviewer of Alexander’s Care of the Patient in Surgery, thirteenth edition on infection control.
An active professional, Peter has chaired several national AORN committees’ and is a past national board member. He has extensive medical device and clinical leadership experience. Peter is a founding trustee and current Treasurer/Secretary for the CCI Research Foundation, a non-profit organization, focused on funding perioperative nursing research.
