Presently, Desiree is the Nurse Manager for Ashley River Tower 6 West at MUSC Health (Charleston, SC). ART 6 West is a 21 bed inpatient medical-surgical unit with a specialty focus in digestive health diagnoses, procedures and conditions. She graduated from Otterbein University with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 2011. In 2019, she graduated from University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a Master of Science in Nursing with a concentration in Health Care Systems Administration. In 2021, Desiree completed her MBA from the University of North Carolina at Pembroke. Furthermore, she completed an Executive Administrative Fellowship at MUSC Health in 2022. Her clinical experience includes medical/surgical, telemetry, stepdown and operating room nursing. Her experience includes a operational leadership experience serving in the hospital supervisor role, filling this role on a per diem basis at MUSC Health (Charleston, SC). In addition, she has experience as a graduate teaching assistant (TA) for an undergraduate (BSN/ABSN) course while a graduate student at The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Her non-work experience includes involvement in AORN at the local, state and national level. She is a member of the Leadership Specialty Assembly as well as a committee member for AORN’s Clinical Nursing Practice Committee.
