Michelle Reigard, MSN, RN, CNOR, is a Perioperative Clinical Professional Development Specialty Educator for the TriStar Division of HCA Corporation in Nashville TN. She has twenty five years’ experience specializing in Cardio/Thoracic and Vascular surgery in the scrub and circulating role and was instrumental in starting an open heart program in a community based, academic, Magnet designated multi-hospital network. In 2008 she transitioned into education focusing on improving patient safety by enhancing staff development and orientation through a Perioperative Internship Program. Michelle has been recognized as a leader and liaison for best practice in perioperative nursing and has presented at multiple national conferences. She lives in Nashville Tennessee with her husband of thirty eight years. She has four grown children and two beautiful granddaughters. Her desire is to empower and equip nurses to grow in their professional development and to ignite an awareness and passion for Perioperative nursing.
