Dawna completed her bachelor of science in nursing at University of Tennessee, Memphis and masters in nursing administration at California State University Dominguez Hills. Prior to nursing, Dawna obtained a bachelor of arts in Political Science and Organizational Studies from University of California Davis. Dawna started her nursing career in the Operating Room in 1997 and became certified in 2001. She has presented at national conferences on topics such as: nursing retention and recruitment, nursing competency and orientation, and LEAN. Dawna began as Clinical Director, Perioperative Services at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center in 2014.
