David Lorenson, RN CNOR PHD (Martial Arts and Sciences) is an author with 10 peer reviewed publications, speaker and leader with over 30 years of experience in several health care systems in the United States. He has a passion for excellence and compassion for people and strongly believes in front line empowerment.
Mr. Lorenson graduated from Pacific Union College, Angwin CA in 1987 and began working in surgical services in 1989, as soon as the opportunity was available. Over time he worked, often concurrently with surgical services, in medical/surgical, pediatrics, head and spinal injury rehabilitation, medical step down, intensive care, emergency services, ambulatory care, and home care. He had the privilege of serving in a variety of leadership positions and is currently serves as the Surgical Services Manager for an innovative critical access hospital in Michigan's Upper Penninsula.
Outside of healthcare, he has a wide variety of interests and pursuits. Among them are reading, writing, music performance, nature photography and videography, wilderness excursions, horsemanship, Biblical and historical studies, Chinese character etymology and martial arts practice and history.
