Gabriella Kaiafas, BSN, RN is a recent graduate of Eastern University's Bachelor of Nursing program. As a student nurse, Gabriella had limited exposure to the OR. The internship program at LVHN provided her with an opportunity to experience a different type of nursing, where she could truly function as the patient advocate. The structure of the internship program enabled Gabriella to observe many different types of OR settings ranging from ambulatory to Level 1 trauma. At the end of the program Gabriella will be able to make an informed decision as to where she would like to begin her perioperative career.
