Nicolette Hooge, DNP, MBA, CRNA is an experienced nurse anesthetist at Duke University Medical Center. She earned a BSN at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and began her career as a pediatric nurse before returning to school to complete an MSN with a specialty in anesthesia. She received her MSN, CRNA at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro/Raleigh School of Nurse Anesthesia. Nicolette started her anesthesia career with American Anesthesiology at WakeMed Health and Hospitals and joined the ambulatory division of Duke Anesthesia in 2014. Most recently, Nicolette graduated from Johns Hopkins School of Nursing with a DNP and Johns Hopkins Carey Business School with an MBA.
Throughout her career, Nicolette has served as a clinical preceptor to anesthesia students and currently participates in multiple nursing and hospital committees. Nicolette is the Co-chair of the EBP Implementation Committee, and the Philanthropy Chair of the Sigma Theta Tau Nu-Beta At Large Committee. She helped create the BLS, ACLS, and PALS recertification program for the Duke anesthesia division and designed, developed, and implemented a Nurse Inquiry E-Mentoring Program through the Nursing Research and EBP Council.
Nicolette is a member of the American Association of Nurse Anesthetists, North Carolina Association of Nurse Anesthetists, Sigma Theta Tau International, and SONSIEL. Her scholarly interests include evidence-based practice, implementation science, mentoring, and anesthesia.
