For more than two decades, Doreen Wagner, PhD, RN, CNOR, FAORN, FAAN has focused on advancing the quality and safety of patient care in the perioperative setting at the state, national, and global levels. She has improved patient outcomes through evidence-based clinical practice guideline development and research. As a respected perioperative nurse expert, educator, and nurse scientist, Doreen has a sustained record of evidence-based practice, policy, and research dissemination through her presentations, publications, webinars and podcasts. In recognition of her perioperative accomplishments, AORN awarded her with the 2005 Outstanding Achievement in Perioperative Nursing Research, the 2009 Outstanding Achievement in Perioperative Academic Nursing Education, and the 2018 AORN Excellence in Perioperative Nursing Award. In addition, Doreen is a Fellow in AORN and the American Academy of Nursing.
