Crystal Bricker MSN, RN, CNOR is a Nursing Professional Development Specialist for Perioperative Services at Carle BroMenn Medical Center. Crystal serves as the Chair of Carle BroMenn’s Nursing Practice Council and Nursing Research Council. In her role she overseees new staff onboarding, unit policy development and upkeep, annual staff edcuation planning and competency assessment, and facilitator of student experiences in perioperative services. She loves introducing students to perioperative nursing and is brought in as a content expert guest to teach at 2 of the local schools of nursing undergraduate perioperative nursing lecture each semester. She is currently a PhD candidate at Illinois State University with a research emphasis of nursing transition to practice into specialty area such as the OR. She has been awarded with the AORN 40 Under 40 Award (2017) and the BroMenn Nursing Excellence Award in Mentoring (2015). She is an advid volunteer in her community, volunteering at the Humane Society of Central Illinois and serving in multiple roles at commnity COVID vaccination clinics. Ms. Bricker has been an active member of AORN since 2013 and serves AORN as President of her local chapter (Twin-Cities of Illinois 1416), Chair of the Clinical Nurse Educator Specialty Assembly, and member of the Guidelines Advisory Board.
