With over 30 years’ nursing experience in clinical and academic settings, Dr Sonya Osborne has cultivated two great passions – perioperative nursing and evidence-based practice. Dr Osborne is currently a Professor in Nursing at the University of Southern Queensland where she teaches research and builds capacity in making evidence based practice changes stick using an implementation science approach. Dr Osborne has an international reputation, having co-authored 10 book chapters and over 60 peer reviewed publications. Dr Osborne was the Inaugural Standards Editor for the Australian College of Perioperative Nurses national Standards for Perioperative Nursing Practice from 2013-2018; and in 2018 was awarded Fellowship of ACORN for dedication and commitment to the specialty.
